The actual time that I'd spent with Ninja (Marlon) in person was probably not that long considering the time that I've known him through Bonny, one of my best friend's and his daughter. But because of his weekly Tuesday calls to Bon, where I would sometimes be in bon's company and incidentally yell warm greetings across to Ninja in my makeshift Cantonese, I always felt like he was a familiar friend. Ninja would call Bonny every Tuesday evening, Tuesday being his main days off before he retired, every Tuesday without fail. I could feel his genuine enthusiasm and affection for his daughter over the phone. Knowing him in this way was only a small part of his presence in this world, but it's the main memory that I have of Ninja: the Ninja Tuesday calls!
